SOS Children's Village International in Bangladesh (www.sos-bangladesh.org) is a non-governmental social devolvement organisation provides care for the children who have lost parental care or who are at risk of losing parental care and deprived of caring family environment. SOS Children’s Village International is probably the largest private child welfare humanitarian organization working more than 130 countries and territories in the world. In Bangladesh, we started our operations in Dhaka in 1972, and since then we have expanded our activities from here to Rajshahi, Khulna, Bagerhat, Chattogram, Bogura, Kurigram and Sylhet.

Our Programmes contribute to delivering on SDGs with a special focus on our target group to improve national social protection system, fighting inequalities, promoting access to quality education, strengthening youth employability and ending violence against children.

SOS Children’s Villages Bangladesh is going to implement She Rises: Safety, Skills and Independence project funded by SOS Children’s Village World Wide (CVW) in partnership with Action for Social Development (ASD), from January 2026 to December 2028. The project will provide a safe, nurturing environment where girls access shelter, food, hygiene, psychosocial care, and education, while developing life skills for social and economic empowerment. The goal is to equip them with the resilience and competencies needed for successful reintegration into mainstream society.

Position: Project Officer – MEAL

Project Name: SHE Rises

Location of Job: Dhaka

Nature of Job: Fixed Term Contract for One year (Yearly renewable based on performance)

Project Duration: Up to the 31 December 2028

Area of Key Responsibilities:

  • Support children and youth participants to achieve individual goals through education and skill training.
  • Design and implement an M&E framework to track project progress, outcomes, and impact, ensuring alignment with project goals and donor requirements.
  • Develop data collection tools, methodologies, and systems for monitoring project activities across multiple locations.
  • Oversee data collection processes, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and timeliness of data from field teams and partners.
  • Analyze quantitative and qualitative data to assess the effectiveness and impact of project interventions.
  • Ensure data is disaggregated by gender, age, and other relevant factors for more targeted analysis.
  • Prepare high-quality M&E reports, including monthly, quarterly, and final reports, as per project and donor requirements.
  • Document key lessons learned, best practices, and success stories, contributing to organizational learning and future project design.
  • Maintain a well-organized database of M&E findings and documentation for easy access and reference.
  • Provide training and ongoing technical support to project staff and local partners on M&E concepts, tools, and best practices.
  • Strengthening the capacity of local partner NGOs (PNGO) in monitoring, data management, and reporting to ensure effective project delivery.
  • Ensure that project activities meet established quality standards and are implemented in compliance with SOS and PNGO’s policies and procedures.
  • Conduct regular field visits to verify data, monitor project implementation, and provide feedback to field teams for improvement.
  • Work closely with the Programme Manager, program staff, and field teams to ensure that M&E processes are integrated into project planning and implementation.
  • Coordinate with external stakeholders, including and other L/N/INGO’s, donors, to align M&E activities with broader program objectives and frameworks.
  • Promote a culture of learning and adaptive management within the project team by using M&E findings to inform decision-making and improve program performance.
  • Facilitate learning workshops, reviews, and reflection sessions to assess progress and make necessary adjustments to project strategies.
  • Support advocacy efforts by providing evidence-based data and insights from the M&E process to stakeholders, partners, and donors.
  • Collaborate with the communications team to disseminate key M&E findings and project achievements to the public and relevant audiences.
  • Adherence to the Child and Youth Safeguarding Policy & Code of Conduct and Sexual Misconduct Regulation (PSHEA) of the organization.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Master’s degree in Statistics, Development Studies, Economics, Data Science, Social Sciences, Disaster Management, or relevant subject
  • Minimum four years of professional work experience in  MEAL roles
  • Good communication skills (oral and written) with community and relevant stakeholders 
  • Well-known local language/dialect and ability to work with people from different cultures, gender, religion, race, nationality and age
  • Highly energetic, motivated and ability to work effectively as a team member
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of different government structures and excellent understanding of humanitarian assistance in emergencies
  • Consistently approaches work with energy and a positive, constructive attitude
  • Proficiency in MS office tools, including Word and Power Point
  • Critical and creative thinking and analytical skills. Ability to compose, edit, analyse and report using complex information
  • Experience of partnership management

Salary & Benefits: As per Organisation Policy (Negotiable for highly competent candidates).
