SOS Children's Village International in Bangladesh (www.sos-bangladesh.org) is a non-governmental social development organisation that provides care for the children who have lost parental care or who are at risk of losing parental care and deprived of a caring family environment. SOS Children's Villages operates in over 130 countries and territories worldwide. In Bangladesh, we have been working since 1972 and presently has programmes in Dhaka, Rajshahi, Khulna, Chattogram, Bogura, Kurigram, Sylhet and Bagerhat.

Our Programmes contribute to delivering on SDGs with a special focus on our target group to improve the national social protection system, fighting inequalities, promoting access to quality education, strengthening youth employability and ending violence against children.

Position: Project Coordinator

Project Name: Digital Empowerment and Language Enhancement Initiative in Sylhet

Location of Job: Sylhet

Nature of Job: Contractual for 1 year (possibility of extension).

Area of Responsibilities:

  • Co-ordinate and implement the programme as per project design and in line with the organization Mission, Vision & Values.
  • Create strategic relationships with all stakeholders who are involved in the project, such as government agencies, community groups, schools, employees, volunteers and NGOs.
  • Ensure proper implementation and monitoring of the Akelius Language Platform, including tracking key performance indicators such as student usage, teacher engagement, and learning outcomes in line with donor reporting requirements.
  • Coordinate timely preparation and submission of narrative and financial reports (mid-year, annual, and final) in compliance with donor guidelines, ensuring accurate data entry in systems like ProDIGI and alignment with Results-Based Management (RBM) frameworks.
  • Organise training, meetings, workshops for capacity development of the Programme staff, Stakeholders and Programme participants.
  • Follow all the financial rules and regulations of the organisation and maintain all government compliances as well as the organization.

Educational Requirements & Experience:

  • Postgraduate degree in any discipline.
  • Minimum 6 years of experience
  • Preferred 4–5 years of proven experience in project management, preferably in the development or NGO sector.

Additional Requirements:

  • Have Knowledge of Log Frame analysis and RBM monitoring tool.
  • Ability to produce an analytical report, including best practices for the development of the programme
  • Know child rights & protection issues and the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC).
  • Candidates should have a good command of the English language (both written and spoken).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, email, and the internet is necessary and flexible to work in software.
  • Candidates are expected to have strong leadership qualities, excellent interpersonal skills and a positive attitude.
  • Willingness to travel to remote areas to deal with the community people.
  • Sensitivity to gender issues
  • Strong moral character and good physical & mental health
  • Meticulous attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.

Salary & Benefits: Monthly Consolidated Salary BDT 40,000.00 (Negotiable for competent candidates)
