Through a multi-stakeholder initiative, Solidaridad is promoting climate-smart and nutrition-sensitive farming practices to bring positive outcomes for smallholders in terms of productivity and income, quality of nutritious food intake as well as environmental benefits. Our work focuses on developing a broader landscape framework to strengthen business relations among producer organizations, as well as with public, private, and civil society organizations, with the aim of promoting agribusiness, food security, and sustainable economic development.

Overall Job Description

The Officer – HR will support the effective implementation of Human Resources functions of the Bangladesh Country Programme by ensuring smooth execution of HR operations, employee services, and administrative processes. The role will assist in recruitment, onboarding, HR documentation, payroll coordination, employee relations, performance management processes, and maintenance of HR records and systems in alignment with the organization’s policies, values, and REC Asia HR framework.

S/he will support compliance with Bangladesh Labour Law and organizational policies, maintain confidentiality of employee information, and contribute to fostering a positive, inclusive, and safe working environment.

The Officer – HR will report to the Country Operation Officer and will be based in Dhaka. The position requires close coordination with all team members in Bangladesh and with the Regional HR team.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Recruitment & Onboarding

  • Support recruitment processes including posting vacancies, CV screening, interview coordination, reference checks, and maintaining recruitment records.
  • Prepare appointment letters, contracts, and employee documentation.
  • Coordinate onboarding and orientation processes for new employees.

2. HR Administration & Documentation

  • Maintain employee personal files, leave records, attendance, and HR databases/software.
  • Ensure proper filing, documentation, and archiving of HR records.
  • Update employee information and support HR reporting requirements.

3. Payroll & Benefits Support

  • Assist in monthly payroll preparation and related documentation.
  • Coordinate employee insurance, tax documents, leave records, and other benefit-related processes.
  • Support final settlement and clearance procedures during employee separation.

4. Performance Management Support

  • Coordinate performance appraisal timelines and documentation collection.
  • Follow up with employees and supervisors to ensure timely completion of appraisals.
  • Maintain training records and support learning & development activities.

5. Employee Relations & Compliance

  • Respond to employee queries regarding HR policies and procedures.
  • Support grievance handling and disciplinary documentation as guided by supervisors.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational HR policies and Bangladesh Labour Law requirements.

6. Safeguarding & Workplace Ethics

  • Promote awareness of code of conduct, safeguarding, and workplace ethics policies.
  • Maintain confidentiality while handling employee information and HR matters.

7. Reporting & Coordination

  • Prepare routine HR reports such as attendance, leave status, recruitment updates, and staff lists.
  • Coordinate with finance and administration teams for HR-related operational matters.

Education and Experiences

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management, BBA (Major in HR), or a related discipline.
  • Postgraduate Diploma in Human Resource Management and/or a recognized professional HR certification will add advantage.
  • Minimum 5 to 7 years of progressive experience in Human Resources.
  • Strong working knowledge of Bangladesh Labour Law, Labour Act, and other relevant employment laws and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Prior experience in the NGO/INGO sector will be considered an added advantage.
  • Fluency in both Bangla and English (written and spoken).
  • Proficiency in computer applications and MS Office packages (Word, Excel, etc.).

  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism and confidentiality.

Employment Type:

  • Project-based fixed-term.
