Officer - Case Work (Maternity Cover)

The Opportunity
The Officer- Case Work is primarily responsible for the implementation of child protection case management activities as part of the Rohingya refugee response, in particular for unaccompanied and separated children (UASC) and other vulnerable and at-risk children. S/he is responsible for ensuring the identification, registration, assessment, referral, direct service provision and follow-up for vulnerable and at-risk children, in line with their needs.

S/he will also be responsible for providing alternative care support in line with internal standards and guidelines. S/he is responsible for documenting information, implementing case management tools and forms, supporting the child/family through the case management process, ensuring data protection in line with internal protocols, and providing daily updates to the supervisor and preparing regular reports.

Qualifications and Experience

  • At least 2 years’ experience with the Child Protection Program. 
  • Knowledge of child rights and child protection issues in Bangladesh. 
  • Strong technical understanding of child protection and community-based approaches.
  • Experience in providing quality case management services to children and their families.
  • Experience in interviewing, data collection and reporting in terms of casework.
  • Experience in providing/ facilitating training, meeting.
  • Has basic knowledge of using MS Office and the internet.
  • Excellent communication skills in cross-cultural contexts.

  • Intermediate level in written and spoken English, fluent in spoken Bangla, and able to converse in the local dialect
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline such as social science, anthropology or development studies or any other relevant department.
