Manager - Electrical & Instrumentation

The Manager – Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) is responsible for ensuring reliable, safe, and efficient operation of all electrical and instrumentation systems across the plant. This role involves managing DCS/PLC systems, power distribution, field instrumentation, and utilities in a continuous chemical production environment. The position requires strong hands-on involvement, proactive maintenance leadership, and effective team management to minimize downtime and support uninterrupted production.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot and maintain DCS (Emerson/ABB) and PLC systems to ensure uninterrupted process control and smooth plant operation.
  • Manage the plant’s electrical network including transformers, switchgear, and drives to ensure reliable power distribution.
  • Oversee calibration, maintenance, and reliability of all field instruments such as pressure, temperature, flow, and control valves.
  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to minimize breakdown and improve equipment reliability.
  • Lead emergency troubleshooting and repair activities to restore plant operations quickly and efficiently.
  • Ensure proper operation and maintenance of utility systems including compressor, chiller, generator, ETP, and WTP.
  • Ensure proper selection and maintenance of explosion-proof equipment in hazardous chemical environments.
  • Prepare and maintain SLD, wiring, and interconnection drawings and keep all as-built documents updated.
  • Apply knowledge of P&ID and control systems to improve process efficiency and plant performance.
  • Plan and execute shutdown activities, system upgrades, and new project installations safely and within timeline.
  • Lead and manage E&I engineers, supervisors, and technicians, ensuring effective task allocation and performance monitoring.
  • Enforce strict adherence to safety standards including LOTO, PPE, and industrial safety procedures.
  • Identify root causes of failures and implement corrective and preventive actions to avoid recurrence.
  • Maintain proper records, logs, and reports for maintenance activities, audits, and performance tracking.
  • Work closely with production, maintenance, and safety teams to ensure smooth plant operations and production targets.

Educational Requirements

  • B.Sc. in Electrical & Electronics Engineering (EEE) from public University.

Experience Requirements

  • At least 14 year(s)
  • The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s): Group of Companies,Chemical Industries,Fuel/Petroleum

Additional Requirements

  • Age 32 to 45 years
  • At least 14 years of practical, hands-on experience in E&I maintenance inside a continuous chemical, petrochemical, or heavy manufacturing plant.
  • Deep, hands-on knowledge of DCS operations and heavy industrial electrical systems.
  • Proven ability to manage a factory-floor technical team and drive maintenance results.
