About the JTBC

The Just Transition Bangladesh Centre (JTBC) is a specialized environmental action centre advancing the just transition agenda in Bangladesh by promoting green jobs, just energy transition, circularity and climate-resilient work, labour rights, carry-out policy researches and advocating for climate justice, sustainable industrial production, and climate-resilient employment within climate and environmental policy as well as labour and community spaces. We work alongside workers' organizations, trade unions, civil society, and partners to ensure that Bangladesh's transition to a green, low-carbon economy remains inclusive, socially equitable, and protective of workers' rights across key industrial sectors.

Application Requirements:

• Candidates' Background: Applicants should be graduates from a public or reputable private university with a degree in Environmental Science, Disaster Risk Management, Law (with strong knowledge of environmental laws and regulations), Meteorology, Environmental Engineering or a closely related environmental discipline.
• 3 to 4 years work experiences any environmental organisation or action projects with a NGO/INGO on slimier position.
• Good knowledge and skills in donor-funded project implementation and management, including the theory of change approach, project activity monitoring, evaluation, and reporting, as well as programme proposal and event concept note writing.
• Sufficient knowledge and understanding of climate change and environmental issues in Bangladesh, including relevant policies, laws, and the just transition agenda for workers and communities, as well as the current national situation in the climate and environmental sector.
• Strong commitment to maintaining confidentiality, professional integrity, and trust with the employer.
• Ability to maintain mutual respect in team work environment and cope with work pressure, strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, team lead experience is essential.
• Candidates with a strong background in environmental research project management, as well as published work in peer-reviewed journals on climate change and environmental issues, will be given special priority.
• Age limit: 35 (max)

Key Responsibilities of a Programme Coordinator:

• Manage and implement time bound programmes and activities under the project as a responsible desk officer, ensuring full professionalism.
• Proactively contribute to the systematic implementation of organizational development activities at JTBC.
• Support field-level programme team operations, monitoring, and evaluation.
• Ensure effective team management and project activity report writing.
• Facilitate stakeholder liaison and provide support for any other tasks assigned by management.
