- Salary: BDT 48,421 per month (consolidated)

Organisational Overview
Lepra is a UK-based international charity organisation working in Bangladesh since 2000. Lepra is going to implement the “Sasakawa Leprosy Initiative Young Scholars” programme in Bogura District. The programme aims to empower people affected by leprosy to take leadership roles in their communities and undertake actions that support their sustainable physical, social, economic, and mental wellbeing.
Job Purpose
The Training & Advocacy Coordinator will support to Programme Manager for designing, coordinating, and implementing training programmes and advocacy initiatives aligned with the organisational goals in Bangladesh. The role focuses on capacity building of staff and stakeholders, while strengthening advocacy efforts at local and national levels to influence policy, practice, and public awareness.
This position is part of a two-year project running until March 2028.
As part of the role, the coordinator will also support four scholars through targeted capacity development and economic empowerment activities, contributing to their skills development and long-term sustainability.
Key Responsibilities
Training & Capacity Development
- Assess training needs of staff and community stakeholders and develop appropriate training plans.
- Design and organise training workshops, refresher courses, and learning events related to programme, advocacy, and organisational priorities.
- Support to Programme Manager to Develop training materials, manuals, modules, and facilitation tools in both Bangla and English, where required.
- Facilitate training sessions directly or coordinate with external trainers and resource persons.
- Monitor and evaluate training effectiveness and incorporate learning into future programmes.
- Maintain training records, reports, and documentation.
Advocacy & Policy Engagement
- Support the development and implementation of advocacy strategies aligned with national priorities and organisational objectives.
- Identify areas of collaboration with organisations working in intersecting issues such as climate, disability rights, rural and economic development
- Coordinate advocacy initiatives at community, district, and national levels and ensure federation members/persons affected are meaningfully represented in advocacy initiatives and campaigns
- Build and maintain relationships with government bodies, civil society organizations, networks, media, and other relevant stakeholders with the support of Programme Manager
- Assist in organizing advocacy events, campaigns, consultations, and policy dialogues.
Coordination & Partnership Management
- Work closely with programme, communications, and external capacity development partners.
- Represent the organization in relevant forums, meetings, and coordination platforms when required.
- Ensure advocacy and training activities are inclusive, gender‑sensitive, and rights‑based.
Reporting & Documentation
- Prepare regular activity reports, case studies, success stories, and lessons learned.
- Contribute to donor reports, proposals, and knowledge sharing documents.
- Ensure timely submission of reports in line with organisational requirements.
Qualifications & Experience
- Master’s degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies, Education, Public Health, or a related field
- Minimum 5–7 years of relevant experience in training, advocacy, or programme coordination (NGO/INGO preferred)
- Proven experience in designing and delivering capacity-building initiatives
- Experience working with government institutions, civil society, and community-based organisations in Bangladesh
Skills & Competencies
- Strong communication and facilitation skills
- Excellent report writing and documentation skills in English and Bangla
- Ability to develop training materials and advocacy messages
- Strong organisational and coordination abilities
- Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team
- Cultural sensitivity and strong understanding of local contexts
- Willingness to travel within Bangladesh as required
