Islamic University of Technology (IUT), a subsidiary organ of Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), welcomes applications from qualified candidates for the following position:

JOBS DESCRIPTION

• Conduct and develop undergraduate and graduate-level courses, including theory, lab, and design project courses, while pursuing research in Biomedical Engineering and Health Informatics. Research focus should include biomedical signal processing and Explainable AI for Healthcare monitoring in Distributed Environment.
• Supervise Bachelor’s thesis/project students and contribute to advancing research in Biomedical Engineering and Healthcare Informatics, particularly in biomedical signal analysis, clinical decision support systems, privacy-preserving frameworks and explainable modeling approaches applicable to real-world problems.
• Publish research articles in reputable journals and top-tier conferences.
• The candidate will additionally have to perform assigned departmental tasks or others as assigned by the higher authority.

COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS

• The candidate must hold a B.Sc. in Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) and an M.Sc. in a relevant field, with outstanding academic performance and strong research achievements in Biomedical Engineering and Health Informatics. The research profile should demonstrate expertise in designing and developing interpretable and privacy-preserving data-driven models using complex, real-world datasets, including biomedical signals and healthcare data. Preference will be given to the candidates with research expertise in biomedical signal processing and explainable AI for healthcare monitoring in distributed environments. The candidate’s academic and publication record must reflect experience in the relevant research areas.
• Teaching expertise, research skills and professional experiences of the candidate must match with the criteria mentioned in relevant sections of this circular.

SPECIALIZATION / DISCIPLINE

Biomedical Engineering and Health Informatics, with specialization in biomedical signal processing, explainable AI, and AI-driven models for large-scale distributed healthcare environments.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

a) The candidate must possess a 4 (four) years B.Sc. Engg. or equivalent degree in a relevant branch of Engineering obtained from a recognized university/institution with minimum CGPA of 3.75 out of 4.0 scale.

b) The candidate must possess a M.Sc. Engg. or equivalent degree in the relevant branch of engineering obtained from a recognized university/institution with minimum CGPA of 3.5 out of 4.0 scale plus minimum 03 (three) years of active teaching experience in recognized university/institution in the post of lecturer and/or above or 2 years active service as Lecturer + 2 years active services as Junior Lecturer or 2year Active Service as Lecturer + 2 Years professional services .

The candidate must possess a Ph.D. or equivalent degree in the relevant discipline from a recognized university/institution plus minimum 01 (one) year of active teaching experience in a recognized university/institution in the post of lecturer and/or above.

The candidate must possess a Ph.D. or equivalent degree in the relevant discipline from a recognized university/institution plus minimum 02 (two) years of Postdoctoral research experience in a recognized university/institution.

c) Publications: The candidate must have minimum 03 (three) indexed journals. Among the indexed journals, at least 01 (one) shall be as "First Author".

LANGUAGES

Sound knowledge in writing and speaking English language. Preference would be given to the candidates having knowledge in other OIC official languages i.e. French and Arabic.

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

• To be a Muslim national of one of the OIC Member States;
• To be below fifty-six years of age;
• To be free of diseases and infirmities that may hinder the exercise of his/her duties;
• Candidates having experience working in a multicultural and multilingual environment will have an added advantage.
• Candidates with a PhD degree from a reputed foreign university are encouraged to apply and will be given preference;
