Name of position : Finance Internship             
Based in : Cox’s Bazar   
Duration of the contract : 01 September 2026 to 30 November 2026 (3 months from date of start), with high possibility of extension.
Reporting to : Finance Officer

Overview

The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) is the world’s largest volunteer-based humanitarian network. The IFRC is a membership organization established by and comprised of its 191-member National Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies. Along with National Societies and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), the IFRC is part of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement. The overall aim of the IFRC is “to inspire, encourage, facilitate, and promote at all times all forms of humanitarian activities by National Societies with a view to preventing and alleviating human suffering and thereby contributing to the maintenance and promotion of human dignity and peace in the world.” It works to meet the needs and improve the lives of vulnerable people before, during and after disasters, health emergencies and other crises.

Job Purpose

  • The Intern will work with IFRC for maximum 3 months as per the agreed time frame between the intern and the IFRC. The tenure has to be completed by December 2026. The Intern will perform required internship tasks under Finance and Administration in Cox’s Bazar. The work the Intern produces/support will be beneficial to both the Intern and IFRC PMO office. The Intern wishes to gain experience working with Finance and Administration in Cox’s Bazar and overall IFRC PMO Operation.

Key responsibilities of Intern Finance

  • Organize financial documents and ensure proper filing.
  • Scan and archive documents in the IFRC SharePoint system.
  • Assist in issuing cheques and processing bank payments.
  • Support the preparation of invoices and journal entries in the ERP/financial system and day-to-day financial tasks.
  • Assist in preparing monthly supplier VAT and TAX documentation and facilitate deposits to Sonali bank.
  • Provide additional support and perform other tasks assigned by the line manager.

Qualification: Education

  • Educational Background: Minimum Graduate- Business administration in subject from reputed universities in recent years. (Prefer in Finance/Accounting/Management)

 Other Skills:

  • Strong interest in career development.
  • Good ICT competence, command of Microsoft Office packages, using email.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a diverse team.

Language

  • Excellent knowledge of Bengali and English language with fluency in speaking, reading, and writing.

Remuneration:

  • BDT 18,000 and (BDT 600) for your mobile communication for official use.
  • Health insurance coverage and individual Medical Reimbursement as per IFRC policy

 Selection and Engagement:

  • Candidates will be selected based on academic qualifications, merit, career goals, and aspirations.
  • The selection process will be competitive. The internship shall have a duration of three months.
  • Selected interns will be expected to work 40 hours weekly from Sunday through Thursday. Interns will be entitled to leave and holidays as per Organization policy.
  • Abide by and work in accordance with the fundamental principles of the Red Cross Red Crescent Movement
  • Actively work towards the achievement of the Federation Secretariat’s goals.
