Good Neighbors (1991) is an international humanitarian, development and non-governmental organization with membership in General Consultative Status in the United Nations Economic and Social Council (UN ECOSOC). Winner of MDG 2 award 2007 and UNESCO-Hamdan Prize for Teacher Development 2024, Good Neighbors Bangladesh (GNB) is operating 17 Community Development Projects (CDP) in 13 districts for child protection, education, health, women empowerment, income generating activities, DRR and Rohingya emergency response activities. Project Name: Stronger Together : Community Resilience through Inclusive Approach Project
Project Location: Shyamnagar Upazila-Sathkhira District (Poddo Pukur & Koikhali Union)
Project Duration: 3 years (subject to availability of funds and donor confirmation)
2. Basic Requirement:
Education:
- Master’s degree in any discipline, preferably in Development Studies, Social Sciences, Disaster Management, Anthropology, Environmental Science, or a related field from a recognized university.
Age: Minimum age 30 years and maximum age 40 years (as of 31st May 2026).
Experience:
- At least 2 years relevant experience in NGO/INGO sector
Other Requirements:
- Sound knowledge on the organizational values, gender equality, child protection, and safeguarding policies
- Speaking & writing skill in English and report writing in both Bangla and English
- Experience in planning, budgeting and financial management.
- Commitment to promoting positive image and visibility of the organization
3. Contract Information:
Salary and Others: Consolidated Remuneration Tk. 40,000 (per month). 15 days paid leave excluding public holidays and training opportunities for career development.
Probation Period: 06 months (Job confirmation/ extension of probation period /Job discontinuation based on performance evaluation of the probation period)
4. Job Assignment in Brief:
I. Project Implementation & Coordination
- Support timely inception meetings, staff orientation and stakeholder engagement at local government levels (UDMC, WDMC, CPP).
- Coordinate and facilitate quarterly coordination meetings and school-based green environment/DRR awareness activities.
- Ensure the distribution of tree plants among the targeted beneficiaries and schools, coordinating with all sectors
- Conduct regular meetings with Govt officials, the school authorities, and the management committees on construction & others relevant activities in timely manner.
- Coordinate emergency response, including beneficiary selection and deployment of community disaster volunteers.
II. Capacity Development & Training Management
- Organize and deliver DRR, refresher, and anticipatory action trainings for volunteers, project beneficiaries, and community resource persons.
- Facilitate Entrepreneurship Development Training (EDT) and Climate Adaptive Livelihood (IGA) trainings for selected beneficiaries.
- Maintain training records, attendance, reports, and follow-up plans.
III. Field Operations & Community Mobilization
- Coordinate volunteer engagement and distribution of DRR equipment (life jackets, megaphones, flashlights, buoys).
- Organize mock drills, awareness campaigns, and disaster early warning dissemination activities.
- Support installation of flood-level monitoring stations, elevated plinth construction, and household bamboo lofts.
- Oversee renovation work in cyclone shelters (field supervision, verification, reporting).
IV. Beneficiary Selection, Support & Livelihoods
- Manage beneficiary selection processes for DRR groups, FbF support, and livelihood interventions ensuring transparency and compliance.
- Coordinate distribution of food-grade containers and in-kind livelihood inputs, and supervise fund-transfer processes for FbF support.
- Maintain updated beneficiary database and group formation records.
V. Monitoring, Evaluation & Reporting
- Support baseline, midline, and endline surveys, documentation, and external audit processes.
- Conduct regular field monitoring, ensure community-based monitoring mechanisms, and maintain project dashboards.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports, success stories, and documentation (including project documentary inputs).
VI. Communication, Networking & Representation
- Ensure regular liaison with DRR offices, local government bodies, NGOs, service providers, and other relevant stakeholders.
- Support dissemination of early warning messages and maintain communication systems during emergencies.
- Assist in national-level result-sharing seminar preparation.
VII. Compliance, Administration, Procurement & Logistics
- Maintain accurate records of project resources, logistics, and procurement support for activities (e.g., boat hire, training materials).
- Support procurement processes as per organizational policy.
- Ensure adherence to organizational and donor compliance standards, safeguarding, and financial protocols.
- Support development of project PR materials and knowledge products.
5. Capacity Requirement:
- Project Cycle Management Skills: Strong skills in Project Cycle Management. Able to design, plan, implement, monitor, evaluate, and report on projects effectively.
- Technical Capacity: Skilled in planning, implementing, and reporting DRR and climate-adaptive livelihood activities, with strong knowledge of anticipatory action, EWS, DRR tools, and climate-smart practices.
- Operational Capacity: Experienced in managing community events, trainings, distributions, and small constructions; strong in beneficiary selection and database management.
- Communication & Coordination: Effective in coordinating with government and community stakeholders, delivering trainings, and producing quality field reports.
- Monitoring & Accountability: Capable of field monitoring, supporting MEAL, ensuring accountability, and reporting risks promptly.
- Behavioral Competence: Proactive team player with strong problem-solving skills, high integrity, and commitment to Child Protection, Safeguarding, and inclusivity.
