The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH is a global service provider in the field of international cooperation for sustainable development and international education work to shape a future worth living around the world. As a public-benefit Federal Government organisation, GIZ supports the German Government, particularly the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) implementing development projects. In Bangladesh, GIZ is implementing technical cooperation projects in the areas of energy, climate change, textile, and human rights under the bilateral agreement, signed on 15 July 1972 between the Bangladesh and German Governments.
This assignment is part of the project “Skills for Self-Monitoring and Compliance with Clean and Fair Production in the Textile Industry (SCAIP)”, commissioned by BMZ and implemented by GIZ in Bangladesh. The project supports the strengthening of social compliance and labour standards in Bangladesh’s textile and garment sector in cooperation with national partners and relevant stakeholders, including the Ready-Made Garment Sustainability Council (RSC).
Within this context, GIZ invites bids from qualified and reputable firms to provide communication and audio-visual services for the assignment “Communication and Audio-Visual Production Services for the RSC”. The purpose of the assignment is to develop and produce high-quality communication products (including audio-visual content) to document and communicate key aspects of RSC’s activities and results in a professional, accurate and stakeholder-appropriate manner, in close coordination with GIZ and the RSC.
Interested firms should demonstrate the following experience and qualifications:
- Proven experience in communication services and audio-visual production, including planning, scripting, filming and editing of short videos and photo documentation for development cooperation, CSR, labour rights, or comparable contexts.
- Demonstrated capacity to produce high-quality audio-visual products (e.g., interviews, event documentation, short feature videos), including post-production (editing, subtitles, sound, graphics) and delivery in common formats suitable for digital dissemination.
- Experience in working in sensitive social contexts (e.g., labour rights, grievance mechanisms, workplace compliance, gender equality) and ability to apply a respectful, Do-No-Harm approach, including informed consent and confidentiality where required.
- Experience working with institutions and multi-stakeholder settings (e.g., public institutions, industry bodies, employers’ organisations, unions, civil society), preferably within the textile and garment sector in Bangladesh.
- Strong organisational skills and proven ability to manage logistics for filming and documentation in Bangladesh, including coordination with stakeholders and filming in factory or workplace environments subject to approvals.
- Professional working proficiency in English and Bangla, including the ability to draft short texts (captions, interview summaries, scripts) and to conduct and translate interviews where required.
