Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung (FES) is a German non-profit organisation established in 1925 by social democrats in order to promote education of the less privileged. FES is committed to the ideas and values of Social Democracy: liberty, justice and solidarity. The FES Bangladesh office was opened in 2013. In Bangladesh, FES promotes socially and ecologically sustainable economic policies, participation and international cooperation through research, training, discussions and exchanging knowledge with partners. We approach the potentials and challenges of developments in Bangladesh at national, regional and international levels. We do this to link debates worldwide and create opportunities for stimulating exchanges on multiple levels to foster regional and global alliances.

Eligibilities:

  • Fresh graduate from a recognized university. A study background in Social Science such as development studies, law, economics, finance, public administration, gender studies, environmental studies, or international relations has proven to be the most advantageous.
  • Good writing and verbal communication skills in both Bangla and English.
  • Fundamental knowledge of MS-word, MS-excel and MS-power point.
  • Understanding of principles of social democracy
  • Enhanced knowledge of at least any one of the prime areas of activity of FES: Labour relations; Gender justice; Economic policy, Geopolitics, Climate justice and Just Transition

Job Description:
The intern/s will get opportunities to gain hands-on experiences by contributing to the proper implementation of FES programmes. The tasks consist in:

  • Assist in organising events, including meetings, seminars, trainings, and workshops;
  • Support the planning and coordination of outreach and communication activities with partners and participants;   
  • Maintain records and ensure all relevant bills and vouchers;  
  • Prepare documentation and provide administrative support;
  • Assisting in procuring programme related logistics and services;
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas, support minute-taking and reporting;   
  • Conduct literature reviews, undertake online research and verify data accuracy in consultation with the supervisor;
  • Provide support to the Finance and Administration department when needed;
  • Perform any other duties and responsibilities assigned by the Supervisors.

Location: Dhaka, but willing to travel across the country

Duration: 03 months (preferably on 1 June-31 August 2026)

Reporting to: Programme Advisor/ Finance Manager/ Office Manager

Compensation: This is a paid internship opportunity. Therefore, FES Bangladesh will offer an allowance as per its financial guideline.
