About CHRF

Child Health Research Foundation (CHRF) is a not-for-profit research organization in Bangladesh working to prevent infections, save lives, and build the next generation of scientists. CHRF conducts research on infectious diseases, antimicrobial resistance, vaccines, genomics, respiratory infections, enteric fever, neonatal infections, and other public health priorities affecting children and families.

CHRF works through laboratories, hospitals, communities, and surveillance platforms across Bangladesh to generate evidence that can inform clinical practice, public health policy, and vaccine introduction. The organization also provides diagnostic services, supports local scientific capacity, and trains young researchers through initiatives such as Building Scientists for Bangladesh.

CHRF collaborates with national and international partners, including universities, hospitals, research institutes, global health organizations, and funding agencies, to conduct high-quality research that is led from Bangladesh and relevant to both local and global health challenges. Through its research, training, services, and partnerships, CHRF is committed to strengthening science and improving health outcomes in Bangladesh and beyond.

Currently, CHRF is preparing to initiate a clinical trial on neonatal sepsis at two tertiary hospitals in Dhaka (Bangladesh Shishu Hospital & Institute and Sir Salimullah Medical College Hospital).

We are inviting applications from qualified candidates for the position of Study Physician.

Job location: Dhaka (CHRF and respective study site) Dhaka, Bangladesh.

Employment term: Contractual [ Two (2) Years]

Vacancy: 2 (Two).

Salary range: Negotiable (depending on the experience and/or qualifications of the candidate)

Benefits: Contributory provident fund and festival allowance (Eid, Puja, Christmas, and Baishakhi), and a two-day weekend.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess physical condition of the admitted children to determine eligibility for enrolment in a surveillance study.
  • Obtain legal guardian’s consent for participation in a study.
  • Conduct daily follow-up of enrolled/eligible babies at the hospitals as per study protocol.
  • Ensure that Standard Operating Procedures are followed at every step of study activities.
  • Regularly share the progress and challenges at work with his/her supervisor.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • MBBS degree from a Medical College recognized by the Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council (BMDC) with completion of internship training and with a good academic record.
  • One-year postgraduate training in Paediatrics from a recognized institution.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in public health research, particularly in hospital settings.
  • Strong problem-solving and management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative.
  • Enthusiasm for working in a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Bangla and English.
  • Ability to work independently.
