About the Role
The Business Development Coordinator (BDC) leads and coordinates institutional funding and business development activities at country level, supporting the Bangladesh Country Team to strengthen its donor engagement, funding pipeline and proposal development. The role works closely with CBM Global’s federation-wide Institutional Funding function, Member Teams, Technical Teams, partners and OPDs to identify and secure funding opportunities aligned with the Country Strategy Plan and CBM Global’s priorities. Overall, the BDC will contribute to increasing and diversifying the Bangladesh country portfolio and supporting sustainable growth in institutional income.
This will be your team:
- The Country Team that you will be joining has 18 employees. You will report to the Country Director, with a functional/technical reporting line to the Director of Institutional Funding (Global). You will have no direct reports.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate country-level institutional business development and resource mobilisation in alignment with the Bangladesh Country Strategy and CBM Global’s institutional funding priorities.
- Develop and manage the institutional funding pipeline, including opportunity identification, prioritisation, Go/No-Go decisions and submission readiness.
- Lead donor intelligence, mapping, positioning and engagement, building strategic relationships with institutional donors, foundations, multilaterals and other funding stakeholders.
- Represent CBM Global in relevant donor coordination platforms, networks and consortium discussions to strengthen organisational positioning and access to funding opportunities.
- Lead and coordinate the development of concept notes, proposals and funding applications, ensuring quality, competitiveness, donor compliance and alignment with CBM Global’s value proposition.
- Facilitate consortium development and strategic partnerships with INGOs, local NGOs, OPDs, UN agencies, research institutions and other relevant stakeholders.
- Strengthen cross-functional coordination among programme, finance, MEL, technical, communications, advocacy, advisory and member teams to support successful business development.
- Lead country-level business development planning, pipeline reviews and performance analysis, working closely with the Country Director and Global Institutional Funding Team.
- Strengthen fundraising capacity, systems and knowledge management, including partner and OPD fundraising capacity, use of digital/AI-enabled tools, and sharing of learning across the federation.
- Ensure all business development and funding activities uphold safeguarding, inclusion, ethical standards and CBM Global’s partnership-based and power-aware approach.
Who We’re Looking For
We are looking for a candidate who brings:
- Master’s degree in English, Economics, Social Development, Business Development or a relevant field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Minimum 7 years’ experience in institutional fundraising, business development, or programme development in the international development or humanitarian sector.
- Demonstrated experience in institutional fundraising and proposal development, donor engagement and consortium approaches, working with programme teams and partners, and experience in disability inclusion, inclusive development or rights-based programming, including engagement with OPDs and local stakeholders.
- Excellent coordination, analytical, communication, relationship-building and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, work collaboratively and demonstrate cultural sensitivity
- Experience working in cross-cultural teams and diverse environments.
- Committed, excited, and passionate about disability inclusion and the rights of people with disabilities.
- Open to work collaboratively.
