Caritas Bangladesh (CB) is a national and non-profit development organization operating in Bangladesh since 1967. It has its Central Office in Dhaka and eight Regional Offices in Barishal, Chattogram, Dhaka, Dinajpur, Khulna, Mymensingh, Rajshahi and Sylhet. CB is implementing 91 projects covering 201 focusing upazilas on eight goals i.e. i) Social Welfare and Service of Love for Vulnerable Communities; 2) Ecological Conservation, Climate Justice and Sustainable Food System; 3) Humanitarian Response and Disaster Management; 4) Education, Skill Development and Employment Creation; 5) Health Care, Nutrition and Education; 6) Development of Indigenous Peoples; 7) Integral Human Development; and 8) Institutional Development and Sustainability.

CB, Emergency Response Program (ERP) Cox’s Bazar is looking for suitable candidates for immediate appointment as well as to prepare a panel list for Emergency response to the Rohingya refugee crisis in Bangladesh through provision of shelter, WASH and protection services”.

Details of Position

Position  : Project Coordinator
No of Position  : 1 (One)
Age  : Maximum 40 years (may be flexible for the highly experienced candidate)
Job Location    : Ukhiya, Cox's Bazar.
Salary  : BDT 70,000 only (Consolidated)
Bonus   : As per organizational policy
Job Nature   : Contractual

Educational Qualification:

Master’s degree in social science or any discipline from a recognized university.

Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Child Protection and GBV programs, including at least 2 years in a similar position with any NGO/INGO. (Women are strongly encouraged to apply)
  • Good knowledge of safeguarding policies, GBV, Child Protection Policy, and other relevant protection frameworks.
  • Strong project management and coordination skills.
  • Demonstrated team building and team management abilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Strong analytical ability, with the capacity to identify, analyze, and report inconsistencies effectively.
  • Knowledge of the local language will be considered an advantage.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications (in both English and Bangla).
  • Strong report writing and presentation skills.
Job Responsibilities:

  • Directly supervise a team of prevention and response of Gender based violence team at Rohingya Community. 
  • Regularly follow-up the activity implementation by the Technical Officers and conduct activity as per the MEAL plan.
  • Organize and facilitate trainings for the staff and community volunteers with technical support from Sub-sector and/or Caritas and other stakeholders who are specialist in Protection, PSS, and GBV etc.
  • Ensure that community volunteers are provided with adequate support and ensure coherence of program in the field, in line with the GBV.
  • Develop facilitation guides for the awareness-raising sessions and train the facilitators to conduct the sessions with men and women.
  • Ensure project activities, specifically psycho-social support and case management support are implemented in a high-quality manner.
  • Ensure good coordination between Community Volunteers and other Caritas teams as well as other stakeholders in the camp (CiC, protection services, information points, etc.).
  • Ensure MEAL system is in place and reporting is effective and on time, along with M&E Officer. Regularly monitor the monthly, quarterly budget variance in a very timely manner.
  • Prepare and submit 5W and situation reports to Protection sector, GBV subsector, MHPSS working group regularly and as required.
  • Prepare and submit donor report regularly and relevant reports as per requirement of management, donor and other stakeholders.
  • Ensure confidential handling of reported cases and follow GBVIMS guidelines, while supporting team well-being, stress management, and strong team cohesion within Caritas Bangladesh.
  • Maintain referral pathways and reporting systems, train staff as required and build strong coordination with protection agencies while staying updated on services, resources, and protection issues.
  • Uphold strict confidentiality and data protection for beneficiaries, staff, and volunteers, and reinforce these standards in field operations.
  • Understand and comply with PSEA and Safeguarding policies, act as a mandated reporter, and promote the best interests of Caritas Bangladesh in all duties.
  • Ensure proper use and care of organizational assets, prepare project completion certificates, and support the admin team in preparing other certificates when required.
  • Demonstrate readiness to work in emergency programs as required by the organization.
  • Show respect for poor and vulnerable communities, uphold the Do No Harm principle, and maintain professionalism on social media, following Caritas Child Protection and Safeguarding policies.
  • Remain committed to child safety, ensuring children feel safe, heard, and supported when raising concerns about their well-being.
  • Promote positive team spirit and collaboration, maintaining professional working relationships with all staff.
