Officer/ Associate Manager, E-commerce, Merchant Acquiring

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Identify, acquire, and onboard new e-commerce merchants across various industry segments.
  • Maintain strong relationships with existing merchants to drive business growth and retention.
  • Conduct regular business reviews with merchants to analyse transaction performance and growth opportunities.
  • Coordinate with merchants on campaign launches, promotional activities, and payment integration support.
  • Develop strategies to increase e-commerce transaction volume and revenue.
  • Explore new market opportunities, partnerships and digital commerce initiatives.
  • Support the expansion of payment acceptance channels, including cards, QR, payment gateways, and digital wallets.
  • Monitor industry trends, competitor activity, and emerging technologies in the e-commerce and payments ecosystem.
  • Coordinate with internal teams, including technology, operations, compliance, risk, settlement, and customer service, to ensure smooth merchant onboarding and support.
  • Ensure timely resolution of merchant issues, transaction disputes, settlement concerns, and technical escalations.

Reporting & Analysis

  • Track KPI performance against assigned business targets.
  • Conduct due diligence and verify documentation during merchant onboarding.
  • Monitor for fraudulent or suspicious merchant activity and escalate when necessary.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Graduation/Post-graduation from a UGC-approved university with a satisfactory academic track record, preferably in Business, Finance or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of experience in e-commerce, merchant acquiring, digital payments, fintech, banking or related industries.
  • Prior experience in payment gateway business, merchant management, or digital commerce operations will be preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of e-commerce acquiring and digital payment ecosystems.
  • Knowledge of payment gateways, cards, QR payments, and online transaction flows.
  • Strong, demonstrated working knowledge of MS Office.
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Customer-centric, self-motivated, a team player, and capable of meeting deadlines.
