Job Context
BARCIK (Bangladesh Resource Center for Indigenous Knowledge) is a non-governmental non-profitable development organization. A group of development practitioners, researchers and social workers established BARCIK in 1997. BARCIK has been working in the fields of environment, agroecology, climate justice and food sovereignty and development exploring the potentiality of indigenous knowledge with utmost commitment and purpose since its inception. BARCIK is looking for well-qualified female/male candidates (Female candidate will be especially considered) for the immediate appointment of 2 Training and Advocacy Officers to be posted in Shyamnagar, Satkhira and Harirampur, Manikganj.
Job Nature: Full-time initially for 1 (one) year and opportunity to extend based on performance.
Academic/Educational qualification: Master of Social Science from a reputed university in Bangladesh.
Experience and Job Responsibility
At least 5 years working experiences with proven skill and competencies in agroecology/sustainable agriculture, climate change adaptation and climate justice.
Other Job Requirements
The Training and Advocacy Officers will be specifically responsible to facilitate training and advocacy related activities which include forming and strengthening civil society organizations, facilitating field-based trainings, and organizing dialogues between communities and government agencies. The Training and Advocacy Officers will coordinate climate-resilient innovation initiatives, provide continuous support to Community Facilitators, and maintain strong monitoring, reporting, planning, and budgeting practices. A clear understanding of agroecology, climate change, food sovereignty, gender mainstreaming, and human rights-based project dynamics is essential. The Training and Advocacy Officers should have a solid knowledge of safe guarding (Child Protection, Gender, & Anti-Sexual Harassment) related knowledge and respect the safeguarding related policy and plans.
Salary: Monthly gross salary BDT 33,400
Other benefit: 1 (one) festival bonus equivalent to 1 month gross salary.
Job Location: 1 for Shyamnagar, Satkhira and 1 for Harirampur in Manikganj.
Age Limit: At most 40 years
