Red Cross-Red Crescent movement is the largest volunteer organization in the world. Bangladesh Red Crescent Society (BDRCS), a national society of the movement, constituted on 31 March 1973 by the President's Order No. 26 of 1973 with retrospective effect from 16 December 1971, is the biggest humanitarian organization in Bangladesh. As an auxiliary to the government, the Society provides humanitarian assistance to the vulnerable populace and has undertaken a wide range of activities in humanitarian response, disaster relief, disaster management, responding to public health emergencies, capacity building of the vulnerable population and promoting Red Cross Red Crescent ideals and principles.

Purpose:
Bangladesh Red Crescent Society (BDRCS) is committed to developing a strong pipeline of competent professionals and future leaders who can contribute to the effective delivery of its humanitarian and organizational mandate.
The Officers’ will be recruited as part of BDRCS’s future leadership development initiative. The position will provide an opportunity for capable and high-potential professionals to work closely with senior management and gain broad exposure to the Society’s programmes, operations, policies and institutional functions.
Key Responsibilities:
a) The Officers’ will support the Directors’, Deputy Directors’ Assistant Directors, Deputy Asst. Directors and various level Officers of relevant departments in planning, coordination, implementation, monitoring, reporting and management of departmental activities. Depending on organizational requirements and individual competency, the incumbent may be assigned to areas including, but not limited to:
- Disaster Response and Emergency Operations;
- Disaster and Climate Risk Management;
- Resource Mobilization and Partnership Development;
- Planning, Development and Programme Management;
- Reporting, Monitoring and Information Management;
- Communications and Media Relations;
- International Relations and Movement Coordination;
- Training and Capacity Development;
- Volunteer Management and Youth Engagement;
- Field Operations and Programme Support;
- Branch Management and Development;
- Other strategic or operational functions as assigned by the competent authority.
b) The incumbent will be expected to work collaboratively with different departments, field offices, branches, volunteers, partners and relevant stakeholders, while demonstrating strong leadership potential, professional integrity, adaptability and commitment to the principles and values of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement.
c) The position is intended to provide high-potential professionals with cross-functional exposure, humanitarian experience and opportunities to progressively assume greater responsibilities, thereby contributing to the development of a capable and sustainable leadership pipeline for BDRCS.
Education and experience requirements:
- Minimum four (04) years’ Bachelor’s/Honours degree from any government-recognized university.
- A Master’s degree in Sociology, Social Work, Disaster Management, Geography and Environmental Studies, Public Administration, English, or any other relevant discipline will be preferred.
- 02 years of professional experience is required. Out of which experience in disaster response, emergency management, or humanitarian assistance is preferable.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and in a multicultural environment.
- Fluency in English and Bengali, both written and spoken.
