AISD Child Protection Policy

SCHOOL DRIVER
To be responsible for driving, maintaining hygiene and reporting on the allocated vehicle of the AISD fleet as assigned and assist in the fleet operation for the students, teachers and staff to ensure safe driving with time-efficiency and economic utilization of the assigned vehicles.

Educational Qualifications: Minimum Higher Secondary certification

Experience: At least 8 years in a similar position, preferably in International Organizations

Knowledge & Skills: Ability to understand and communicate in English. Has a valid professional driving license for heavy and light motor vehicles. Knowledgeable about city road structures and general road-traffic regulations; Basic technical training on vehicle maintenance.

Employment Arrangements: Local Support Staff - Grade: IV

MAJOR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY INCLUDE
I. Safe Driving

  • To drive School buses for student pickup/drops.
  • Ensure delivery of Official letters/documents as assigned.
  • Ensure all passengers have fastened their seat belts and are behaving appropriately before starting the bus and during the journey.
  • Abide by traffic regulations.
  • Perform duties as assigned by the management.

II. Record Keeping and Reporting

  • Ensure vehicle documentations are updated.
  • Keep Vehicle logbook and all other relevant records  updated.
  • Refuel weekly and keep fuel records updated for teacher/staff/pool vehicles.
  • Maintain all maintenance and billing records of assigned  vehicles.
  • Report (written) accidents, damages/scratches on the vehicle immediately.
  • Report to the Transport Manager immediately for any issues or irregularities that occur during a routine run as soon as it is safe to do so.

III. Maintenance

  • Ensure that the vehicle is in good working order: perform daily checks.
  • Ensure/perform vehicle washing and cleanliness of assigned teachers/staff/pool vehicles.

IV. Supervision

  • To oversee the performance of assigned school vehicles (teachers/staff/pool vehicles) and personally appointed drivers.
  • Recommend for repair/maintenance of assigned teachers/staff/pool vehicles.
  • Recommend on student pickup/drop time and route.
  • Coordinate and assist bus monitors in student management in regular and emergency bus operations.
