In Bangladesh, Acted initiated its activities in 2018 to respond to the Rohingya Refugee Crisis in the following sectors: Site Management Support, NFI/LPG Distribution, Natural Resource Management, Information Management, Emergency Preparedness and Response, and Livelihood in the Kutupalong-Balukhali Expansion Site, Cox’s Bazar. |

| Key roles and responsibilities |
Responsibilities
Project Implementation: Environmental Activities
1. Plantation & NbS Activity Management :
- Monitor and supervise plantation activities to ensure adherence to technical guidelines and project standards.
- Provide technical guidance during plantation, Nature-based Solutions (NbS), and environmental restoration activities.
- Guide and oversee biological slope stabilization interventions, ensuring appropriate species selection and correct implementation methods.
- Support identification of sites suitable for plantation and NbS interventions.
2. Beneficiary Management :
3. Mapping & Technical Documentation :
- Prepare and update maps related to plantation sites, slopes, and NbS intervention areas.
- Support site documentation through sketches, GIS data (if applicable), and photographic records.
- Ensure accurate documentation of intervention locations and coverage.
4. Training & Capacity Building :
- Plan and organize training sessions for beneficiaries on plantation techniques, maintenance, and NbS practices.
- Support the development of training materials in coordination with technical experts and partners.
- Monitor training effectiveness and beneficiary participation.
5. Monitoring and Documentation :
- Conduct regular field monitoring and prepare progress updates on plantation and NbS activities.
- Ensure timely submission of field data, photos, and success stories.
- Maintain proper records and documentation of all field activities.
6. Stakeholder & Coordination Management :
- Lead stakeholder management at camp level, including communication and coordination with CICs, camp authorities, and community representatives.
- Represent the project in relevant sector coordination and coordination meetings at camp and area level.
- Ensure effective coordination with FAO and other relevant partners for planning, implementation, and reporting.
- Maintain regular communication with internal teams, field staff, and technical experts.
7. Reporting & Communication :
- Contribute to activity reports, situation updates, and donor reports as required.
- Coordinate closely with field teams, FAs, and partners to ensure smooth implementation.
- Escalate risks, delays, or technical issues in a timely manner.
Project Implementation: FLAT
1. Logistics:
- Supporting with accurate and precise information to prepare order forms promptly if requested by the line managers.
- Confirm the quality of material selection when applicable.
- Ensure proper management and use of the project assets and stocks.
- Extend the support to the logistics department in the necessary area.
2. Finance:
- Provide support for camp payments as per delegated by the line managers.
- Make sure the payment policies and SoP are respected while the camp payment takes place.
3. Human Resources:
- Commitment to continuous learning through training and timely identification of capacity-building needs and opportunities, in coordination with the Environmental Specialist/HR Department.
- Supervise recruitment and training of Field Assistants for data collection.
- Make sure the Human Resource-related documents are submitted to the agreed person or place promptly.
- Facilitate training on the necessary and identified area for strengthening staff capacity through the initiative of Acted Academy.
4. Security:
- Immediately report any security concern to the Environmental Specialist and the Security Officer.
- Share recommendations to the relevant focal for the sake of agency staff security.
- Make sure the fleet and security policies are respected and maintained.
5. Transparency and Compliance:
- Ensuring compliance with Acted internal procedures and donor procedures.
- Supporting the line managers in record keeping of project documentation, including photos and proper filing of meeting minutes, databases, attendance sheets, assessment reports/documents, review and updating of databases, etc., in soft and hard copy.
6. MEAL:
- Supporting MEAL colleagues during monitoring and evaluation activities of project implementation and addressing recommendations to enhance the effectiveness of project activities and maximize impacts.
- Support in question preparation and ideas, as requested by the line managers.
7. Others:
- Support the Environmental Specialist and management in any rational ad-hoc requirements.

| Required qualifications and technical expertise |
The candidate can have the following educational degree
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Forestry, Environmental Science, or a related field.
|
| Selection Criteria |
- For Master’s with at least 2-3 years of experience in the Forestry, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- For Bachelor’s with at least 4-5 years of experience in the related field.
- Experience working in refugee camp settings, particularly in Nature-Based Solutions (NbS), reforestation, or Natural Resource Management (NRM).
- Demonstrated willingness and ability to travel to the field.
- High level of honesty and integrity.
- Good at written and verbal English and Bangla.
- Fluency in Chittagonian dialect
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in teams and multi-cultural environments.
- Habituated to extensive field visits.
